Your Impact :

  • Plans, reviews, and assigns work of construction field office personnel including Lochner staff, sub-consultants and partners.
  • Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues.
  • Read and interpret complex contract plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret construction contract language.
  • Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule.
  • Review / coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals.
  • Proactively manage construction changes and claims and work with client to resolve.
  • Leads construction meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Manage client expectations and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Work with client and contractor to manage construction budget and schedule.
  • Manage Lochner's budget, schedule and staffing.
  • Maintain client communications and relationships.
  • Mentor staff on CEI responsibilities and tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who you are :

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Experience in transit station construction.
  • 10+ years of construction management experience on transit, road and bridge infrastructure projects.
  • At least 5 years working as a resident engineer on projects with increasing size and complexity.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience on rail and transit projects (Metra, CTA, NICTD, Amtrak, UP, CN, CSX, Norfolk Southern, etc.).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
