Your Impact :
- Plans, reviews, and assigns work of construction field office personnel including Lochner staff, sub-consultants and partners.
- Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues.
- Read and interpret complex contract plans and specifications.
- Read and interpret construction contract language.
- Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule.
- Review / coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals.
- Proactively manage construction changes and claims and work with client to resolve.
- Leads construction meetings with clients and contractors.
- Manage client expectations and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Work with client and contractor to manage construction budget and schedule.
- Manage Lochner's budget, schedule and staffing.
- Maintain client communications and relationships.
- Mentor staff on CEI responsibilities and tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who you are :
- BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- Experience in transit station construction.
- 10+ years of construction management experience on transit, road and bridge infrastructure projects.
- At least 5 years working as a resident engineer on projects with increasing size and complexity.
- Professional Engineer License (PE) in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience on rail and transit projects (Metra, CTA, NICTD, Amtrak, UP, CN, CSX, Norfolk Southern, etc.).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
