The Corporate Coding Specialist is responsible for overseeing the billing of all claims, collections and follow-up as directed.
The Corporate Coding Specialist will participate in weekly and monthly meetings at each site and the with the centralized business office to address front end admissions issues, outstanding AR balances, billing issues, insurance issues, and denials.
Duties may include :
Manage ICD-10 coding data ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
Keep updated on all coding changes for insurance payers and CMS expectations.
Work as a liaison between NewVista and payers to determine coding and medical record inconsistencies.
Effectively communicate with medical facility staff, patients, and / or insurance payers as needed.
Maintain monthly productivity standards at a rate of 95% or more of the assigned goal.
Prerequisites for this position :
- High school diploma or GED.
- Highly organized, Accountability, compliance, and teamwork.
- Professional, courteous, and respectful interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic. Basic revenue cycle experience.
Preferred experience or credentials
Competitive candidates will have :
- Minimum 1 year experience with healthcare billing.
- Intermediate computer literacy including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; ability to work independently and as a team member.
