The Facility Services Department of WWRC is currently seeking to hire two qualified individuals to serve as housekeepers.
The incumbents in this position will work to support the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) campus facilities and provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for clients, visitors, and staff.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
1. Cleaning all types of floors, carpets, and stairs by scrubbing, sweeping, stripping, waxing, sealing, wet or dry mopping, or vacuuming is necessary to maintain cleanliness.
2. Clean the walls of bathrooms, partitions, showers, bathtubs, lavatories, and commodes.
3. Unclog toilets and replace bathroom supplies such as soap, toilet paper, air vents, and paper towels.
4. Ensure the safe operation of various cleaning equipment, such as stripping buffers, floor buffers, shower machines, golf carts, and Billy Goat vacuums for smoking areas.
5. Pressure washes sidewalks and surfaces.
6. Assist with snow removal using mowers and tractors equipped with blades, snow blowers, shovels, and salt spreaders; regularly sweep and remove leaves and debris from sidewalks and steps near assigned areas.
7. This position also helps with the preparations for special events such as meetings and graduations, the recycling of plastic, aluminum, and cardboard across the entire center, and assisting the grounds department when needed.
This is a wage (part-time) position and will work on average 25-30 hours a week. Hours may vary depending on agency needs.
The individual in this position is considered essential personnel for inclement weather.
Minimum Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have :
Knowledge / Experience :
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and practices.
Knowledge of the use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Physical ability to perform reasonably strenuous housekeeping tasks is required.
Skills / Abilities :
Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions.
Equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to perform job duties.
Ability to work effectively with diverse customers.
