About the Role We are seeking experienced Dirt Foremen and Operating Foremen to lead earthwork operations on major infrastructure projects.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals who have a proven track record in managing earthmoving operations, site development, and heavy equipment coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily earthwork operations and coordinate equipment fleet
- Read and interpret site plans, grades, and elevations
- Manage crew productivity and equipment utilization
- Coordinate with surveyors for grade checking and layout
- Monitor cut / fill operations and material quantities
- Ensure proper soil compaction and material placement
- Maintain daily production reports and quantity tracking
- Lead safety meetings and maintain safe working conditions
- Coordinate with other trades and utilities on site
- Manage erosion control and environmental compliance
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in earthwork operations
- Strong understanding of GPS systems and grade control
- Experience with various types of heavy equipment
- Knowledge of soil conditions and compaction requirements
- Ability to read site plans and calculate quantities
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license
- Equipment operation experience preferred
Equipment Knowledge
- Dozers with GPS capabilities
- Excavators and articulated trucks
- Motor graders
- Scrapers and compaction equipment
- Underground utility installation equipment
- Site layout and grade checking tools
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Capable of accessing equipment and uneven terrain
- Standing, walking, and climbing as needed
- Basic computer skills for GPS systems and reporting
Travel & Schedule
- Travel required (up to 100%)
- Full-time position with overtime opportunities
- Year-round work available
- Project-based assignments with per diem
