Job Title : Fatherhood Educator
Department : Programming
Supervisor : Fatherhood Mentoring Program Manager
Exempt / Non-Exempt : Non - Exempt
Primary Function :
The Fatherhood Educator will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Project FACT (Fathers and Children Together), which includes delivering three different evidence-based curricula for three target audiences : fathers and / or father figures, BGCPBC male club members, and fathers and their children.
Evidence-based curriculums will be taught in both the Club and school settings. The Fatherhood Educator will also refer fathers and / or father figures to community resources that will support them in becoming more involved in the lives of their children.
The Fatherhood Educator will assist with the recruitment of the fathers and mentors and attend community events to promote Project FACT Program.
Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities) :
- Facilitate at least two evidence-based curricula to FACT participants and BGC members (must be able to train both adults and children).
- Assess, collect, and report on all assessments required by curricula and / or program.
- Assist Program Manager with monitoring and inputting program data and outcomes.
- Assist Program Manager with all quarterly and yearly grant reports.
- Utilize and maintain the Salesforce Database System to manage all program data
- Market FACT Program with Program Manager and assist with Project FACT webpage, social media, and program materials (brochures, posters, flyers, and collateral).
- Prepare monthly progress reports to be given to the Program Manager / Advisory Committee.
- Assist the Program Manager with securing resources to enhance program delivery.
- Communicate with program staff when necessary to carry out essential functions.
- Attend / participate in ongoing trainings for self-development and to improve service delivery.
- Abide by and enforce Boys & Girls Club rules and program guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings, as required.
Relationships :
- Internal : Maintain close, daily contact with staff and supervisor to receive / provide information and discuss issues.
- E xternal : Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools external staff and volunteers, mentors, donors and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.
Support Project FACT Manager in recruiting fathers.
Skills & Knowledge Required :
- BA degree preferred or minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in social work, education, youth development.
- Strong teaching skills and experience with facilitating evidenced-based curricula with fidelity.
- Experience with working with youth from under-resourced areas.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Highly motivated team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships within the organization and community.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to plan, schedule, organize, and follow up on tasks related to the job to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames.
- Proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and / or relevant position software programs.
- A strong personal commitment to BGCPBC’s mission and vison.
- Valid Florida driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Ability to work some weekend and evening hours. Work hours are defined by program needs.
