Job Description

The Associate Director plays a crucial role in the leadership team of MICI-AHEC, contributing to the development and execution of strategic initiatives to achieve the organization's mission and goals of pipeline programming.

This position requires a dynamic and strategic leader with a strong background in nonprofit management, program development, fundraising and grant writing experience.

This position is responsible for the operational support of MICI-AHEC programs, assisting the executive director with efficient and effective non-profit best-practice solutions.

The position applies demonstrated expertise and leadership to guide the department to the most effective use of the systems to achieve the goals and objectives of MICI-AHEC programs and the strategic mission of the University of Indianapolis.

The Associate Director helps to lead the annual planning and budgeting process as well as a few new strategic initiatives and special projects each year.

The Associate Director will also be involved in fundraising efforts as well as communications with donors. The purpose of this Associate Director position is to manage the day-to-day operations (staff, systems, and budget support with the Executive Director) within MICI-AHEC.

They will promote timely and accurate completion of high-quality outcomes and reports in order to advance the MICI-AHECs mission, and will contribute significantly to the preparation of competitive grant proposals to sustain and grow MICI-AHEC funding.

The Associate Director will lead the MICI-AHEC Scholars program. Responsibilities include planning and implementing community experiences and overseeing scholars’ online didactic progress on Canvas Expand as well as tracking and inputting all community experiences and individual experiences each year.

The Associate Director is also responsible for retaining at least 15 students in each AHEC Scholars cohort for each year.

The incumbent interacts with MICI AHEC staff, University of Indianapolis administration, staff, professional organizations, community and business leaders;

and various healthcare constituencies, agencies and providers.
