Sayres Defense is looking for a Junior Billing Analyst to support our Corporate Finance team. Our Corporate headquarters are located in Washington, DC.
This role is eligible for fully remote.
About the Role :
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Billing Analyst to join our team at Sayres Defense. As a Billing Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for government contracts, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
This position requires experience in Time & Materials (T&M) and Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) billings, as well as familiarity with indirect rates, Unanet or Costpoint accounting systems, and the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) invoice submission portal.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely invoices for government contracts, including T&M and CPFF billings.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, government regulations, and company policies.
- Calculate and apply indirect rates to invoices.
- Utilize Unanet and / or Costpoint accounting systems to manage billing data.
- Submit invoices through the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) portal.
- Reconcile billed amounts with contract values and funding.
- Coordinate with project managers, contract administrators, and finance teams to resolve billing issues.
- Maintain detailed and organized billing records.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to billing activities.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
Qualifications :
- 1-3 years of Proven experience as a Billing Clerk or in a similar role within a government contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of T&M and CPFF billing processes.
- Familiarity with indirect rates and their application in billing.
- Proficiency in using Unanet and / or Costpoint accounting systems.
- Experience with the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) invoice submission portal.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of government contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
Education :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to obtain secret clearance if needed.
Salary :
The salary for this position is likely $45,000 - $60,000. Salary ranges are not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary;
rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
