The Tift College of Education is searching for an Executive Assistant to the Dean on the Atlanta campus.
Responsibilities :
This position provides administrative assistance to the Dean of the Tift College of Education. Responsibilities include providing office support to the Dean, scheduling and coordinating the Dean's appointments and travel arrangements, and supporting the Dean with College and unit budget management and routine accounting functions.
The position operates with moderate supervision and requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications :
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university and one year of prior administrative support experience is required.
In lieu of education, an equivalent combination of education and / or experience will be considered. Candidates should know how to use Word for document preparation;
Excel to maintain budget, research and development of expense reports; and Outlook to manage office calendars; must have the ability to learn WorkDay budget system and other Mercer-specific IT.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Records maintenance skills and database management skills.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Word processing and data entry skills.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Knowledge of office management principles and procedures.
- Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and / or special events.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to understand and handle routine accounting functions.
