Location : Texarkana, TX
Salary : $35.00 - $40.00 / hourly
Summary
The Radiation Therapist will administer radiation therapy treatments and simulations with minimal supervision, adhering to the prescription and instructions provided by the radiation oncologist.
The role entails the judgment to determine when treatment should be postponed pending consultation with the oncologist. Additionally, the therapist will contribute to treatment planning procedures, including tumor localization and dosimetry.

- Maintain an accurate schedule and ensure patients are seen promptly
- Explain procedures to patients and assess their needs, including dietary, psychosocial, and consultation requirements
- Prepare rooms and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients
- Report any deviations in treatment setup or dose delivery promptly. Adhere to radiation safety measures for patients and personnel
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Conduct weekly chart checks and rotate responsibilities with a partner
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiation Therapy Technology
- Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or treatment center environment. Acceptance of students from an AMA-approved School of Radiation Therapy Technology is also considered
- ARRT, RT (R), registration or registry eligibility. Completion of requirements for registration within the first year of employment.
- Possession of a current Medical Radiologic Technologist certificate with the Texas Medical Board or initiation of the application process before hire for new graduates in training
- Maintenance of current licensure / registration / certification, including BLS certification
