The head of accounting for the Company. Responsible for accounting practices, financial controls (budgets), cost, and general accounting for the Company.

The Controller will provide financial support for the company to grow responsibly, in a profitable and sustainable manner.
The Controller will ensure the integrity of accounting information and accurate Marmon Standard Practice Instruction compliant financial statements through strong internal controls and accounting knowledge, reporting to the Vice President of Finance, and supporting other business functions as required.
This position will be a driver of data-based decision making through financial analysis, working cross-functionally, disseminating financial information and knowledge.
The Controller will lead the accounting department with three direct reports, the AR / AP Senior Accounting Manager, Manufacturing Assistant Controller and General Accountant.
The position is based out of the EcoWater Systems head office in Woodbury, MN and the expectation is to be on-site three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Overall Responsibilities :
The Controller plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position requires strong leadership skills, financial expertise, and the ability to optimize processes and resources across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting and AR / AP Management :
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and account reconciliations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Manage and prepare parent company reporting requirements through OneStream.
Oversee AR collections and deductions and AP to ensure proper management.
Partner with Manufacturing Assistant Controller to establish KPIs and ensure proper management.
Budgeting and Forecasting :
Co-lead with North America Vice President of Finance the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and realistic budgets.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify areas of concern or improvement.
Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
Financial Analysis :
Conduct financial analysis to assess the North America EcoWater's financial performance, profitability, and working capital.
Identify trends, opportunities, and risks that may impact the organization's financial health.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
Manage the capital investment process (Authorization for Expenditure), working cross-functionally to assess payback and IRR, through to the accounting for capital assets.
Internal Controls and Compliance :
Ensure compliance with Marmon’s Standard Practice Instructions, Sarbanes Oxley internal controls, and Foreign Corrupt Practice Act.
Ensure that financial and IT SOX documentation is maintained in a current manner.
Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests.
Process Improvement & Team Management :
Implement new processes within the finance team to ensure continued improvement and innovation.
Develop and coach employees to achieve maximum potential. Sustain a culture of innovation, high energy, and performance in line with EcoWater’s mission, vision and values.
Qualifications, Skills, Competencies :
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and experience streamlining reporting for more efficient and effective results.
Epicor and OneStream is a plus.
Strong excel skills are essential.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Operational business mindset.
Self-motivated, organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financial related field required.
CPA preferred.
Audit experience preferred.
Travel Requirement :
Occasional travel will be required.
