Overview

Come grow with us by joining our team as a Senior Logistics Manager! In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments.

You will oversees the corporate transportation team and drives cross-functional initiatives to provide cost-effective, timely transportation to our customers and internal service teams.

This manager will set the tone for the team by prioritizing timely scheduling / dispatch operations, maximizing cost-effectiveness and efficiency within the department through various operations systems, and managing the team members while ensuring a smooth operational flow within the department workforce.

This manager will be responsible for staff productivity, instruction and coaching on departmental processes, and motivating & counseling direct reports and employees as needed.

Responsibilities also include oversight of the transportation services department, ownership, and execution of cross-functional transportation initiatives impacting multiple internal departments.

Responsibilities

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role :

Oversee day-to-day transportation operations needs at assigned locations in coordination with other site leaders.

Anticipated 1000 scheduled loads per month.

  • Participate in developing site-specific goals and objectives and ensuring alignment and effective execution within the site.
  • Providing mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching, leadership development and training, and performance management.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with internal teams.
  • Communicates and enforces job responsibilities and service requirements to meet team goals and objectives aligned with management / leadership.
  • Collaborates and responds to internal requests to resolve complaints and compliance issues.
  • Maintain process adherence and drive productivity within the team for the most efficient execution of tasks and projects.

Leads multiple projects to ensure cohesion between teams and strengthen service goals.

Creates and implements action plans, presents status reports, and overviews operational performance metrics.

Analyzes complex trends through data to improve overall business health and provides meaningful solutions / action plans for improving transportation services.

  • Communicates with team daily to resolve escalated issues from direct reports and collaborates / communicates with a leadership team with updates.
  • Contributes to developing and using efficient processes, effective management practices, and clear communications across the organization to ensure that day-to-day operations are performed with the highest levels of accountability, productivity, consistency, and integrity.
  • Meeting with transporters to discuss the market / expand with Model 1
  • Responsible for identifying new processes or opportunities to decrease cost, improve revenue, and increase efficiency
  • Develop quarterly and yearly department goals.
  • Conduct weekly and bi-weekly meetings with staff and continually assess performance.
  • Responsible for arranging, monitoring, and executing the bi-weekly vehicle inventory.

Upload pre-audit data, reconcile data, and report findings to your manager.

  • Coordinate all scheduled and unplanned bank audits at all CBS and storage locations.
  • Reconcile all data and report results to your manager.
  • Manage transportation vendors nationwide to ensure accurate and competitive pricing, and they meet or exceed all insurance requirements

Minimum Job Requirements :

  • Bachelors in Logistics or related fields
  • 10 years’ experience in the transportation industry
  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience in a comparable organization
  • 3 years of experience in contract negotiation
  • Minimum of $50M P&L Experience
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff remotely
  • Proficient in standard logistics software
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
