Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Project Manager II role is responsible for the successful implementation and evaluation of programs and initiatives to support the academic mission of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM).
This Project Manager role is on the Strategic Initiatives and Project Management Team in the Dean's Office in the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
This individual will work closely with administrative and faculty leaders across the School to provide comprehensive project management support including the development and administration of project plans, establishing milestones and benchmarks, creating timelines, and reports that meet key project adjectives.
This role works autonomously in a collaborative team environment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Master's degree related to project management and evaluation and four years of relevant administrative and medical experience in research projects or other health-related activities;
or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
Experience in a higher education or academic medical center environment preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and / or REGISTRATION :
No requirements, however, any relevant licensure, certification and / or Registration, will be highly considered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assumes responsibility for the successful and timely completion of tasks that comprise the development, implementation, and evaluation of the activities encompassed by a project or initiative.
- Develops and maintains project timelines and key milestones that would indicate successful project implementation.
- Translates planning and design decisions into concrete activities and tasks for project implementation and sets priorities for project implementation.
- Designs and implements strategies for data collection to evaluate the impact of individual programs and initiatives.
- Develops data collection forms, procedural manuals, and other documents required for project management.
- Prepares information materials (e.g. presentations, project reports) about individual programs and initiatives and prepares summaries of project activities.
- Ensures that all aspects of project management activities are conducted with the highest professional standards and in accordance with state and federal regulations and guidelines, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein
