Job Summary

Applies extensive knowledge of professional health education programs and policies to manage program administration and operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.

Participates in strategizing, planning, and implementation of substantial program improvements of large scope and high degrees of complexity.

The Program in Medical Education for the Urban Underserved (PRIME-US) is a unique 5-year track for University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) medical students interested in working with urban underserved populations.

PRIME-US includes students in both the UCSF medical school and the Joint Medical Program (JMP) at UC Berkeley. PRIME-US is a part of a statewide initiative to increase the number of physicians working to improve the health of vulnerable communities.

The PRIME-US Program Manager oversees day-to-day operations of the PRIME-US program, including providing guidance to enrolled students, supporting teaching faculty and managing a small staff team to administer key components of the program.

Specific responsibilities include :

• Working closely with program faculty, design and deliver PRIME-US weekly seminar curriculum and capstone course tailored to program outcomes and promote integration of individual teaching sessions to enhance the UCSF Bridges curriculum.
• Provide general support to PRIME-US students, enforce student policies and protocols aligned with the School of Medicine, and make referrals to broader School of Medicine and UCSF campus resources to foster student academic success.
• Oversee PRIME-US special events and manage program budget and expenditures.
• Design community-based student projects and serve as a liaison between PRIME-US, the School of Medicine and community-based organizations.
• In close collaboration with the PRIME-US Faculty Director, develop, implement and evaluate curriculum; manage outreach and admissions activities;

and provide guidance and support for other PRIME-US leadership positions.

• Represent PRIME-US at regular meetings; collaborate closely with colleagues within UCSF Medical Education and at the UC-Berkeley Joint Medical Program.
• Supervise one staff member in support of PRIME-US program deliverables.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $92,900 - $153,100 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• 5+ years directly relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Advanced knowledge of a health professions education program curriculum and requirements.

Maintains a broad range of expertise in health professions education theory and industry best practices.

• Advanced knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills to develop and implement complex processes and systems improving program quality and efficiency and reducing cost.
• Excellent communicator; includes verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.

Ability to handle sensitive personal information with appropriate discretion and judgment.

Advanced interpersonal skills. Skills to work collaboratively coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization.

Successful experience working with people with a wide range of backgrounds and skills.

Advanced organizational and project management skills. Ability to lead a team, prioritize personal and team tasks and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.

Advanced personal organization skills and ability to apply to administration of the entire program including organizing critical files for compliance.

• In-depth knowledge of educational software and technologies to promote a wide range of teaching and learning goals.
• In-depth knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in related area preferred.
