Clinical Program Specialist Collegiate Suicide Prevention

Seeking a candidate with 3-5 years of clinical mental health experience, who can professionally provide suicide prevention educational instruction to college staff utilizing the Collegiate Blue Envelope Program and evidence-based tools such as the CSSRS and Safety Plans.

It will require community outreach, multidisciplinary and multi-organizational collaboration.

This is a grant -funded, remote position with the majority of time working remotely from home and some opportunities to travel to colleges and local organizations within Western Michigan.

Candidate must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to provide off-site educational trainings throughout West Michigan on a semi regular basis.

The candidate will need reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.

Essential Functions

Coordinates program planning, implementation, and evaluation in area of accountability in collaboration with members of the community school district.

Identifies opportunities for philanthropic support to support program objectives. Acts as an advocate, crossing multidisciplinary lines to meet external partner needs.

Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a consultant to other members of the team within and outside Corewell Health.

Acts as a consultant in area of expertise.

  • Assesses the community educational needs and develops, implements, evaluates and revises teaching strategies / educational programs related to area of specialty.
  • Develop and maintain network with internal and external partners to support programming. Develops support systems for schools and coordinates program with other system-wide / community support programs.

Participates in Hospital / Community committees as member and consultant on quality care issues.

  • Initiates performance improvement studies in order to evaluate and measure the outcome of services. Make recommendations to improve the quality of services provided.
  • Coordinates the delivery of educational content within Program services related to area of specialty.
  • Performs and provides designated activities related to area of specialty.
  • Maintains the documentation and record organizational and external agency requirements for services provided.
  • Oversees selected staff as assigned by manager to coordinate program services.
  • Bilingual is a plus

Qualifications

  • Preferred Master's Degree or equivalent related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience related experience Required
  • LIC-Master Social Worker (MSW-Master) - State of Michigan or equivalent in mental health / behavioral health preferred
