General Accounting & Payroll - Erie, PA
Our organization is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant that is detail-oriented, highly organized, and a self-starter.
To be successful the right candidate must also possess excellent communication and time management skills. This position requires strong core accounting skills and must be adaptable to working on multiple accounting projects as directed by management.
This position will receive on-site training but a core, basic foundation of accounting and bookkeeping is required.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Ability to work with and provide customer service as required and appropriate
- Ability to work on multiple accounting projects for multiple companies as required
- Run and review weekly reports as needed
- Must be able to assist in monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining general ledger postings and account balance verifications
- Must be familiar and experienced with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, proofing, billing, and financial statements.
- Work various accounting software and other software programs including Quickbooks (required), Cyma, Peachtree and Sage
- Able to assist with Payroll data entry and proofing, support all payroll functions including balancing accounts (training provided)
Qualifications and Requirements
- An Associate Degree in business or accounting is preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Knowledge of common office equipment
- Knowledge of Accounting Software, Quick Books, Cyma, Peachtree etc.
