Systems Analyst, Senior / Journeyman / Junior, SOC 15-1211, Secret : Analyzes contract requirements to develop solutions using various sensors and Navy owned sensor system software.
Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate solutions to customer requirements.
Analysis includes evaluating power requirements, local power available and any other site preparations necessary to support an installation.
Analysis and architecture include hardware requirements, software application, network administration, communications systems, cameras, and computer systems.
Based on analyses, develops overall system architecture which includes the list of applicable sensors and locations for installations.
Requirement analysis and architecture development are in support of Department of Defense ranges and multi-domain awareness in remote international locations, subjected to extreme environmental conditions.
- Provides technical and engineering support services, works with various types of electronic / computer equipment and related devices, directing the performance of or performing one or more of the following tasks : performing on site repair of systems;
- plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems; installations of systems or system components; participates in setting up, installing and initiating the operation of, servicing of and training on, systems in the field;
develops work plans required to ensure that all equipment has been tested and operational before scheduled use; designs and develops special equipment or procedures required to perform calibrations or test.
Responsibilities apply to the system as a whole rather than just the software component. Apply technical experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition and resource management.
Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analysis, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Duties may include but are not limited to : installation of Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers and antennas, radars, Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) receivers and antennas, security cameras, surveillance cameras, VHF / HF communications sets, microwave communications systems, satellite communications systems, domain awareness systems that include workstations, servers, and monitors, generator sets, renewable energy systems, etc.
Installation of sensor systems requires conducting work on towers and buildings and could involve the use of heavy equipment for site preparation.
Because of extensive knowledge of the system and the components, may perform duties as a trainer. MS Project, Visio, Excel expertise a plus.
Education : Degree and experience must be in engineering, computer science or other technical field.
Experience : A minimum of 5 years’ experience associated with technical functions as related to development of system architecture for sensor systems.
Must have experience in working in remote overseas locations. Must have hardware and software experience with multi-domain awareness systems.
Must have strong technical background with computer system administration, network administration, and general understanding and the ability to install / troubleshoot the following types of systems : VHF / HF communications systems, video systems, radars, AIS, ADS-B, and microwave communications systems and satellite communication systems.
