Reports to : Chief Operating Officer

Overview : The Director of PC Operations is responsible for the overall project execution performance including achieving Profitability, Schedule Compliance, and that Equipment meets Project Scope requirements for LDX Solutions' Pneumatic Conveying (PC) division.

Oversees Project Management, Project Engineering, and Product Engineering Teams. Responsible for overall Project Execution activities.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership to develop detailed implementation schedules for PC projects.
  • Interface with Sales, Applications, Manufacturing, and Installation Teams to ensure a successful completion of projects.
  • Execution of Project Planning & Delivery plans.
  • Lead and coordinate the efforts of the applications team to develop highly technical sales proposals.
  • Lead and coordinate the efforts of the process engineering team to validate system designs, equipment specifications, maintain process flow diagrams, and provide front end engineering support to the sales and applications teams.
  • Oversee and improve operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure accuracy and cost efficiency without compromising quality or performance.
  • Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including other departments and potential customers.
  • Assist sales personnel in establishing personal contact and rapport.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices as they pertain to pneumatic conveying equipment.
  • Ensure project scope of work is completely understood with all team members with clearly identified roles and responsibilities assigned.
  • Provide direction and reporting to all stakeholders such as customer, internal departments, and management.
  • Maintain the project budget and keep management informed of any variances. Work with purchasing to help improve project budget.
  • Produce and maintain the schedule as well as ensure schedule compliance. Keep engineering and design informed of project needs : Drive the project.
  • Immediately informs management of any impact on the overall performance of the project.
  • Ultimate responsibility for compliance with the contract scope.
  • Schedule and oversee project review meetings to make sure design is proceeding at the appropriate pace and project needs are being met.

PM to issue minutes of these meetings.

  • Deal with vendor interface.
  • Prepare monthly project progress updates.
  • Project cash flow projections.
  • Manage and record all project changes, internal and customer changes.
  • Make sure other departments support your needs. If not, elevate to the next level.
  • Perform initial project review (budget and specs) after turnover meeting. Identify any errors or issues that may affect the project performance.

This should occur within 4 weeks of kickoff meeting.

  • Coordinate appropriate resources to ensure the project is successful.
  • Identify deficiencies in engineering work product. Note that this includes technical deficiencies.
  • Make sure we are supplying what we sold, if you find discrepancies between what we sold and specs and you are not capable of resolving to the benefit of LDX, elevate the issue to the Salesperson, Operations Manager, or Sales Manager.
  • Hold lessons learned list / post-mortem meeting. Identifies and documents best practices and processes as related to implementation of project.

  • Quality control - demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Dependability - consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of project management experience.
  • Bachelors or Associate Degree is preferred.
  • Must be able to create positive, mutually beneficial business relationships with customers, operations, sales, and other functional areas.
  • Track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience with managing projects with over budgets over $15M.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed throughout project.
  • Experience in similar industry strongly preferred.
