Overview
The Director, Sales manages and directs a global team of sales managers and professional sales staff to develop and implement business strategies to optimize the profitability and market share of the assigned business.
Responsible for business unit KPIs and customer satisfaction, as well as P&L, with emphasis on sales, expenses, margin and direct contribution income.
Ensure the business is efficient, effective and compliant in meeting the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive, global strategic sales plans to ensure profitable growth and achieve Divisional objectives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, identify partnerships, and effectively utilize a broad range of financial and quantitative data and analysis
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for emerging markets, growth, and innovation, and remain knowledgeable of competitors and subject matter experts
- Develop and maintain relationships with key physicians, subject matter experts and national medical bodies
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment, reimbursement dynamics, and healthcare environments impacting the adoption of technologies and procedural techniques
- Oversee analysis of market share and customer satisfaction to ensure uniformity throughout the business unit
- Work collaboratively with Commercial Business teams to determine pricing strategies
- Work collaboratively with the global Marketing function
- Coordinate with the global functions to ensure supply chain, distribution channels, and customer support are effectively providing resources and support to customers and distributors
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback, both formally through the performance management process and informally through daily discussions and interactions, while recognizing employees for their contributions
- Identify and develop current and future leadership through efforts including, but not limited to, effective succession management, development conversations, and stretch opportunities for team members in accordance with Cook’s Leadership Competencies
- Ensure roles and responsibilities, performance expectations, and training requirements are developed and clearly documented and communicated
- Responsible for performance and wage reviews for team members
- Implement policies, programs and directives of senior management
- Foster and maintain a workplace culture respectful and supportive of individual differences
- Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
- Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance

Qualifications
Qualifications :
- BA / BS in business related field required; or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
- Prior people management experience required, with senior-level experience preferred
- Travel experience required
- Previous leadership in business strategy and execution for a large team preferred
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant device industry experience is required
- Experience leading and motivating cross functional and dispersed teams
Physical Requirements :
- Travels up to 70% of the time to attend and run business meetings, visit customers, co-travel with sales teams, etc. as necessary, including domestic and international travel
- General office environment
- Sitting for extended periods
- Requires close visual acuity when working with computers, etc.
