Principal IS Architect

Job Summary :

The Principal IS Architect will lead the design, planning, and implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategies with a focus on automating workflows, streamlining processes, and enabling Digital Tech Transfer using Dassault Systèmes 3DExperience (3DX) platform.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Operations and IT, to drive excellence in PLM processes, ensuring integration with key systems such as ERP and MES.

The Principal IS Architect will own technology decisions, influence stakeholders, and oversee the implementation of PLM capabilities like EBOM, Specifications, and MBOM.

Key Responsibilities :

• PLM Strategy Development : Strategize and execute the PLM roadmap, focusing on eliminating manual workflows, improving process efficiency, and implementing Digital Tech Transfer using Dassault Systèmes 3DX platform.
• Technology Leadership : Own technology decisions, collaborate with Operations and IT to drive system excellence, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
• Data Management : Drive the creation of a strategic enterprise data model for product information.
• Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a liaison between business teams and IT to provide technical solutions that meet user requirements.
• Partnership Building : Partner with Operations teams and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to support Amgen’s Tech Transfer strategy.
• PLM Implementation : Lead the implementation and maintenance of PLM capabilities such as EBOM, Specifications, MBOM, and Manufacturing Process Planning (MPP), ensuring integration with ERP and MES systems.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their processes and design solutions within the 3DX platform.
• Work with offshore teams, developers, and testers to deliver technical solutions.
• Create and manage implementation plans, tracking scope, timelines, and associated risks.
• Collaborate with Dassault’s R&D teams to contribute to product enhancement requests.

Qualifications (Required) :

• Experience in directing solution design, business process redesign, and software implementation.
• Strong technical / functional expertise in supporting applications across Engineering, Tech Transfer, and Quality functions.
• Expertise in Dassault Systèmes 3DX platform, including requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation.
• Experience with offshore coordination and customer management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, make technology decisions, and guide technical teams.
• Extensive experience with PLM solutions and integrations with ERP and MES systems.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Familiarity with PLM practices in biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and distill complex information into concise presentations for senior management.
• Experience with SaaS PLM platforms and knowledge of FDA regulations governing computer system validation in biotech manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Agile software development methods (e.g., Scrum, Scaled Agile).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Basic Qualifications :

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience, or
• Master’s degree and 6 years of experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience, or
• Associate degree and 10 years of experience, or
• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience

Top 3 Must-Have Skill Sets :

• Extensive experience in Dassault Systèmes 3DX (ENOVIA), particularly in requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation.
• Proven ability to direct solution design, business process redesign, and software implementation.
• Solid experience with PLM solutions, particularly in integration with ERP and MES systems.
