CLS 1- Molecular Biology

CLS 1-Molecular Biology role provides professional and technical skills and knowledge to ensure accurate and timely performance of regular and specialized testing in one or more areas of clinical laboratory such as Hematology, Molecular, Microbiology, Auto Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Immunology, and Flow Cytometry to obtain data for use in diagnosis and recording clinical trial laboratory test results.

Performs work within the allowed scope of technical license.

What You’ll be Doing :

• Independently performs and reports test results for all clinical laboratory procedures as assigned, both automated and manual, in the clinical laboratory department.
• Demonstrates proficiency, competency and understanding of fundamental principles of clinical laboratory procedures with minimal amount of supervision.
• Maintains sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations and prepares reagents required for testing.
• Notifies supervisory team of any irregularities of factors, which may influence test results.
• Participates in introduction of assay improvements, new assay configurations and validation.
• Uses the control measures and personal protective equipment provided, reports any safety related deficiencies.
• Ensures compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
• Adheres to laboratory’s quality control policies, documents all quality control activities and maintains a clean and well-organized work area.

What We Are Looking For :

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience required.
• Sound knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in job area.
• Valid California State Clinical Laboratory License to perform laboratory testing.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role :

• Working knowledge of Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP) and other regulatory agency standards within the area of responsibility such as CLIA requirements.
• Proficiency with general laboratory techniques.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
• Technical knowledge of complex testing procedures and science supporting the analysis.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints).

Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $61,100.00 - $101,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience;

location; and / or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and / or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and / or other benefits.
