Territory Sales Engineer

- Compensation- Salary $60,000-$70,000 Plus Commission (Uncapped) The average commission per month is around $1,600
Summary
The territory sales engineer leads in identifying sales opportunities and executing customer strategies in order to achieve sales plan.
Also utilizes excellent interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships.
Outside Sales Representative Duties and Responsibilities
- Effective sales calls including : Weekly call planning, scheduling appointments in advance, and meeting preparation to support : business updates, product / project information, and discussions regarding customer challenges / opportunities.
- Identifies and defines sales opportunities with existing accounts on a weekly basis, and communicates them to Inside Sales and management.
- Regularly identifies new prospects and meets with them to assess sales potential.
- Develops and executes key account plans with defined goals, strategies, and tactics to deliver annual sales growth.
- Effectively manages multiple accounts within assigned regions in order to maximize annual territory sales and year-over-year territory sales growth.
- Leverage supplier relationships to provide customer demonstrations, schedule joint sales calls, obtain product samples and information, provide customer solutions, and gain customer contacts.
- Work closely with the inside sales team to ensure accurate project information, timely quotations, and accurate order processing.
- Assist customers with product demonstrations both by securing supplier on-site demos and / or personally conducting demos in the customer’s facility.
- Customer product support with on-site start-up for new tools and gages and with occasional investigation & troubleshooting for existing products.
- Utilize project management skills for major projects to set agreed-upon goals, and timelines, and support action plans with customers, suppliers, and company personnel.
- Provide excellent customer service by working closely with the inside sales team and other personnel to coordinate customer information on quotations, orders, accounts payable, calibration orders, project information, etc
- Take personal responsibility for learning and maintaining knowledge of our products and services offered as well as related customer processes.
Participate in continuous learning such as vendor training, Tooling U, in-house training, and personal investigation and research.
- Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner.
- Attending sales meetings, conferences, and trade shows as requested.
- Appropriate use of resources and timely follow-up related to, expense reports, sales reporting, record keeping, and use of company property.
- Utilize required P.P.E. and follow all plant / location-specific safety procedures and instructions.

Abilities
- Approximately 25% overnight travel.
- Ability to Lift up to 25lbs
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Valid Auto Insurance
Education and Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of sales experience, or 5+ years of sales experience in the industrial distribution industry or 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or quality control.
- Experience working with assembly tools, measuring equipment, and quality lab products preferred.
