Job Summary : Human Resources Manager
Overview :
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the HR department, particularly in benefits administration.
Key responsibilities include overseeing compensation, benefits, leave management, and performance management. The manager will direct group benefits programs
health, dental, vision, disability), handle workers' compensation, and ensure compliance with relevant laws. This role involves analyzing current benefits, negotiating with vendors, and communicating effectively with employees about their benefits options.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct market analysis to develop competitive benefits programs.
- Manage benefits enrollment, COBRA, and compliance-related tasks.
- Oversee workers' compensation cases.
- Provide updates and maintain employee benefits documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding employee benefits.
- Prepare reports and perform audits on benefits programs.
- Respond to employee inquiries and assist in various other HR functions as needed.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
- 5+ years in HR, 2 of which are managing people
- Certifications such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP are beneficial.
- Strong understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office products.
Physical and Working Conditions :
- Frequent desk work using computers, with some lifting (up to 20 pounds).
- Occasional need for work outside normal business hours.
