Position Summary
This position will manage and build a strong team of healthcare analysts through leadership and mentorship, holding primary responsibility for delivery of analysis projects to successfully provide tactical and strategic solutions to constituent needs.
Day to day activities include :
Developing and delivering decision support tools, reporting applications, insights and business intelligence based on advanced analyses and studies to support healthcare policy, benefits and operational decision making by Aetna internal and external constituents.
This involves extracting, analyzing, and interpreting health utilization and financial data from many sources to address business questions regarding population health management.
Examples include health and economic outcomes, quality of healthcare, healthcare program and product design, healthcare provider network design and other business needs.
Activities require advanced technical, analytic and consultative skills, extensive knowledge of healthcare data and information systems, as well as an understanding of epidemiology, healthcare benefits, healthcare financing and healthcare delivery systems.
You will collaborate with business partners to provide sound statistical and research design advice on projects and programs.
Reviews healthcare data, metrics, systems and advanced research methods. Responsible for ensuring appropriate review and sign-off of project results to ensure appropriate use of study results.
You will lead interdepartmental teams to shape policy and process.
Performs or manages applied statistical research and custom analysis of integrated healthcare data, interprets results, and makes recommendations based on analytic findings to business areas.
Makes recommendations about data collection methods, metrics definition and evaluation methods.
Develops and participates in presentations and consultations to existing and prospective constituents on information services, capabilities and performance results.
Turns analysis into business / customer solutions. Understands the relationships between program design, outcome measures, and appropriate measurement strategies.
Stays informed about industry trends, research findings, and evaluation methods.
Recommends and develops tactical and strategic solutions that satisfy information needs across products, segments and clients.
Presents analytic reports to clients and stakeholders, presents and explains results effectively to non-technical audiences.
Participates in the development of project plans and timelines.
Manages team projects, people, customer expectations and business priorities to achieve constituent satisfaction.
Integrates understanding of internal and external data sources for quantifying risks.
Responsible for team commitments to quality and on-time deliverables. Is willing to understand and probe into technical details and mentors his / her direct reports to do the same.
Receives general direction from Senior Informatics Manager or Informatics Head and is competent to work at the highest level in all aspects of data analyses and presentation.
Assists in all phases of team leadership and performs management functions.
Required Qualifications
2-3 years of experience with extracting and analyzing data.
2+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries.
Experience understanding internal and external data sources and quantifying risk.
Ability to collaborate with business partners on projects and programs.
Experience giving recommendations for tactical and strategic solutions.
Experience managing team projects and business priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
8 or more years of healthcare or pharmaceutical industry analytic experience.
Demonstrated project management and / or team lead experience.
Ability to communicate statistical and technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form.
Doctoral or Master's degree in relevant field with healthcare analytic experience.
Education Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Social Science, Healthcare or equivalent experience.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is : $63,300.00 - $139,200.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
