Planning and Development Director
The City of New Port Richey is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Planning and Development Director to serve in a key role on the city’s leadership team and to lead the community development functions within the city’s operations.
Known for its cultural heritage and unique riverfront landscape, the City of New Port Richey is largely a residential community with a strong local government and an attractive historical downtown with a broad array of business and retail services.
The city is located in Florida’s Central Gulf Coast, approximately thirty miles northwest of Tampa.

Under the direct supervision of the City Manager, the Director will be responsible for performing a wide variety of complex technical as well as administrative tasks managing all aspects of the department operations that involve planning, zoning, community development, and building division functions.
This position requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in planning and six years’ experience in the field of planning, including experience in a supervisory capacity.
American Institute of Certified Planners Certification (AICP) preferred.
The City of New Port Richey is offering a competitive salary and benefit package to secure the appropriate candidate. The annual salary range for the position is $101,500 to $129,426 DOQ and experience.
