Position Overview :
The Senior Functional Business Analyst in the Information Resources Department is pivotal to driving strategic IT initiatives forward.
Engaging with over 35 AVPs and Directors, the role demands a high proficiency in developing business cases, crafting documentation for capital projects and requests, and ensuring the organizations IT infrastructure aligns with both current and future needs.
This position calls for a candidate who excels in stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, documentation, and participating actively in IT strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities :
- Forge strong collaborations with senior leadership to comprehend strategic objectives and assimilate business requirements for key IT initiatives, including but not limited to the Clinical VPN replacement and migration from RHEL 5 / 6 to supported OS versions.
- Facilitate effective requirements-gathering sessions with AVPs and Directors, ensuring project alignment with strategic initiatives and seamless implementation of critical infrastructure upgrades.
- Lead in the development and documentation of business cases for capital projects and requests, incorporating a deep understanding of the technological and operational implications of projects such as the Clinical VPN overhaul and RHEL upgrades.
- Produce high-quality documentation reflecting precise business needs and project details, facilitating clear communication of technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain transparent and effective communication across different organizational tiers to support the successful execution of system upgrades and replacements.
- Contribute to IT strategy discussions, particularly in transformation initiatives, with a focus on enhancing system reliability and security.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with substantial experience in functional business analysis within a large healthcare or research institution.
- Demonstrated capability in business requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis, underpinned by a thorough understanding of IT infrastructure and operational needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of effective engagement with senior management and a knack for conveying complex IT solutions in an accessible manner.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, business analysis tools, and a keen grasp of the challenges and solutions in healthcare IT infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to new technologies and project management tools.
