Reports to : Senior Director of Development and Donor Relations

Position Overview :

The Senior Associate, Donor Relations and Operations plays an important role in tracking and engaging UWNYC’s donor base, as well as supporting critical tasks connected to donor events, communications, operations, and logistics.

This role will be exposed to and involved in all elements of Development and donor relations work, including donor event planning and execution, donor communications, research and meeting preparation with external partners and donors, direct solicitation and fundraising, data entry and data analysis, and other foundational Development functions.

Primary Responsibilities :

The Senior Associate reports to the Senior Director of Development and Donor Relations and supports the work of the entire team in the following functions :

  • Donor pipeline management and analysis and research (40%) :
  • Support CDO, VP, Senior Director of Development and Donor Relations, Director of Board Engagement and Leadership Relations, and Major Gifts Manager in research briefs and profiles on current donors and prosects
  • Support entry of critical donor and prospect data in database and coordination with Operations team on processes, including communications, coding and segmenting donors
  • Support in data analysis of donor giving
  • Own the maintenance and accuracy of prospect lists to inform strategies and outreach
  • Lead the coordination and set up of donation, ticket, and other campaign pages with Marketing and Communications team and Resource Development Operations staff
  • Other core operational needs as they arise
  • Donor relations and solicitation (40%) :
  • Logistics, planning, and execution for affinity group meetings, donor stewardship and cultivation events, site visits, and other engagements
  • Support the drafting, execution, and dissemination of donor communications, including fundraising appeals, gratitude and impact communications, holiday communications, gift acknowledgments, and other collateral via email, mail, and third-party mail house
  • Engage with donors at events, via thank you calls and emails, and solicitation calls
  • Research and identify meaningful gifts for affinity groups and key donors
  • Project management, administrative, and logistics (20%) :
  • Serve as the project manager and driver on a variety of tasks and projects related to donor relations, engagement, and solicitation spanning involvement and inputs from various team members

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 2 of years relevant experience, with a preference for background in Development, fundraising, donor engagement, and / or event planning
  • Demonstrated ability with project management tasks and ability to change gears as needed.
  • A passion for UWNYC’s mission, vision, and accomplishments
  • Astute listener with an ability to understand, reflect, and incorporate clients’ and peers’ needs and interests.
  • Strong writing, editing, verbal, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
  • Presence and confidence to project credibility to donors and peers
  • Familiarity with database and CRM tools

Salary range : $53,321-$66,105*

$53,321-$66,105*

The final determination of salary, within this range, will depend on the candidate’s education, skills and experience required for the particular position.
