Tennant Company is currently recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Manager for our Manufacturing & Distribution site in Louisville, KY.
As a member of the site Management Team, the CI Manager will own and help in building a culture of continuous improvement by driving standard work practices across all departments and delivering strict adherence to the 5S program.
While leveraging all available resources to aide in building out a world class fulfillment center. This leader will be capable of dealing with ambiguity and facilitating effective change management to move the business forward.
This position is on site, not virtual.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for identifying opportunities to achieve improvement in the key business metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development through application of Lean concepts.
- Develop advanced competency in wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards and coaching employees in the use and implementation of CI, Quality Assurance, & Lean principles.
- Management of the lean transformational activities and projects, directing the assessment, development, launch and continuous improvement activities.
Provide formal and informal training and coach individuals and process owners how to use engineering and Lean methods to achieve operational excellence.
- Ability to develop and share best practices across shifts within the same building as well as at a network level.
- Responsible for driving site standard work execution, 5S program performance, and process compliance.
- Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives. Work with site leadership to conduct assessments of critical site and business needs.
- Applies company methodologies and engineering methodologies / tools such as product slotting, studying labor standards (time studies), layouts and optimization of flow, data profiling and analysis, and resource modeling to improve distribution operations.
- Facilitates discussions and resolves conflict with key business stakeholders and integrated project teams.
- Responsible for performance and execution of the sites quality program. Oversee all functions related to quality assurance and processes.
Experience :
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain.
- 5+ years or more of related experience in the Distribution, Warehousing, Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics industry preferred.
- Strong analytical background with demonstrated experience utilizing data to drive decisions.
- Expert in the Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Power Point and Excel).
- Advance Project Management skills.
- Understands and is able to apply Lean Six-Sigma concepts, CI methodology, Kaizen events and other process improvement methods to drive key KPIs in cost, delivery, and quality.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, supervisors).
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment, Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
- Warehouse Engineering : understanding of Product Slotting; Studying Labor Standards (time studies); Distribution Layouts;
and optimization of flow, Warehouse Metrics, & Data Profiling.
