The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Treatment Plant Operator I - Wastewater to improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Utilities department.

The Treatment Plant Operator I-Wastewater earns a competitive salary o f $20.58 - $22.27 / hourly based on qualifications.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR I - WASTEWATER
Essential Functions
- Samples and monitors and performs testing required to maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and storm water and sludge management.
- Performs all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act Regulations.
- Collects wastewater plant samples and runs onsite lab testing per TCEQ regulations.
- Walks the plant to collect data from hour meters, physically check pumps for proper operation, start centrifuge for sludge processing, and look / find issues and address them.
- Performs maintenance on wastewater plant equipment and performs basin maintenance.
Requirements :
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- Requires two years wastewater operation or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses :
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Class D Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License
- Class C Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License (Preferred)
