Credentialing Coordinator

This position will provide full administrative support for applicants trying to obtain a license as a physician, physician assistant, and a handful of other medical professionals in the state of North Carolina.

In this role, the Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for screening applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Duties also include ensuring each application moves efficiently through the licensure process for appropriate review.

A Credentialing Coordinator plays a critical role in the licensure process. We are looking for an individual with excellent customer service skills to join the NCMB licensing team.

A successful candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently, adaptable to change, and has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

New hires are eligible for our robust benefits package upon their start date. This position may require mandatory overtime during certain times of the year.

Responsibilities :

Process applications and credentials submitted by applicants for various types of licenses; understand the requirements for the different license types.

Analyze and evaluate applications, identify deficiencies and discrepancies efficiently and effectively.

Ensures accuracy of information entered into the licensure database, and of the applications submitted to the quality assurance process.

Communicates with applicants and staff to answer questions regarding applications.

Seek guidance from appropriate staff i.e., legal, medical or administrative staff, as needed.

Staff license interviews during Board meetings as necessary.

Must handle administrative details and routine, day-to-day issues independently, use judgment in resolving problems and making recommendations.

Other duties deemed necessary by the Licensing Manager.

Skills

Must be detail oriented, able to adapt to frequent work interruptions, handle multiple tasks, prioritize tasks, make independent decisions, demonstrate flexibility and meet deadlines.

Strong administrative and organizational skills required.

Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of section processes and procedures.

Demonstrate the ability to work as a team member within the Licensing section.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interface with personnel and applicants at all levels.

Proficient with Microsoft office software.

Education and / or Experience :

High school diploma or GED required.

A minimum of 2 years of credentialing, clerical or administrative experience.

CPCS credentials a plus.
