- Current Group Exercise certification with one or more of the following : American Council on Exercise (ACE),
- Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA),
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM),
- Specialty specific (i.e., Yoga, Pilates, Les Mills, etc.) certification, as required for format taught
- Current American Red Cross CPR / AED certification
- Minimum two (2) years of group exercise or fitness-related teaching experience
- Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service abilities
- Sales and Marketing Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques.
- Problem Anticipation / Deductive Reasoning Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and then apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems and considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Oral Comprehension and Expression Ability to understand and communicate so others can understand ideas and information.
- Computer Ability to develop and maintain computer records in Word, Excel and other software required by TBCC.

GENERAL SUMMARY Under the direction of the Group Fitness Manager, the Zumba Instructor is responsible for instructing quality group fitness classes to members and guests while maintaining a safe and effective learning environment and focusing on providing the best customer service and hospitality.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead quality Zumba classes in a professional manner.
- Follow the Zumba formula of minimum 70 percent Latin and international rhythms to a cardio dance format.
- Arrive prepared to instruct a quality class, ensuring all equipment and music is prepared and appropriate for the audience and format.
- Monitor and ensure the well-being of all participants throughout the activity.
- Assist in the cleaning and general maintenance of the fitness studio.
- Keep accurate class attendance records.
- Ensure classes are of the highest quality of content, safety and physical challenge.
- Present innovative, entertaining and fun classes
- Active participation in events, programs, meetings and training
- Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response
- Schedule varies and may require weekend and holiday hours, days and evenings
