Mental Health Therapist - Adolescent PHP Center
This facility's location in the New Braunfels area.
The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for maintaining a caseload of adolescent clients and facilitating therapeutic groups at the facility.
They design treatment plans, evaluate the results for the client and make changes to the plan as needed, oversee clients’ trajectory at multiple levels of care and provide weekly clinical reports for insurance review.
The Mental Health Therapist oversees clinical interventions, participates in consultation and feedback with the Director of Clinical Services.
The Mental Health Therapist will ensure proper documentation of clinical interventions that are compliant with Joint Commission.
The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for having knowledge of and compliance with policies and procedures of the center and provides as needed intervention / support to ensure compliance.
The Mental Health Therapist may be asked to assist in the revision and implementation of these policies as needed to promote therapeutic success of clients and safety of the facility.
The Mental Health Therapist will be asked to participate in clinical meetings weekly, and may be asked to provide training / education to direct care staff regarding topics such as mandated reporting, boundary maintenance, redirection, crisis intervention, etc.
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
- Responsible for maintaining a small caseload (5-7 clients)
- Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed treatment goals
- Timely and accurate documentation of clinical interventions and treatment progress
- Participate in weekly clinical meetings with a dynamic and diverse clinical team
- Provide clinical documentation for weekly utilization reviews.
- Coordinates with residential treatment team for effective care of clients.
- Works closely with the Director of Clinical Services
- Maintains current TX licensure and certifications as required by the State.
- Prepared to support and assist in crisis intervention or other situations when deemed appropriate.
- Provide 2-3 sessions per week per client on caseload

- Knowledge of evidence-based practices utilized in clinical interventions
- Knowledge of ethical code and requirements of mandated reporting
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
- Motivation to grow and increase knowledge within the field
- Detail oriented and organized.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Master’s degree or higher in a mental health field
- Licensed Professional Counselor. (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensure and Certifications to provide mental health care in the State of Texas
- Experience in facilitating therapeutic groups
- Able to pass a background check
