Order Picker Job Description
Position : Order Picker
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Job Duties :
- Manage Order Picking : Accurately pick ticket orders.
- Warehouse Operations : Pull items from shelves based on number, size, color, quantity, and quality requirements.
- Order Accuracy : Ensure all orders are accurate.
- Staging : Correctly stage items for delivery.
- Equipment Operation : Operate forklifts and other handling equipment, adhering to safety regulations.
- Product Storage and Dispatch : Plan and monitor the storage and dispatch of products.
- Stock Replenishment : Oversee the replenishment of stock.
- Inventory Management : Monitor stock control systems and process specific orders.
- Goal Achievement : Ensure warehouse goals and productivity targets are met.
- Health and Safety : Maintain a high level of health and safety standards.
- Packing : Shrink wrap products to pallets and pack warehouse orders as necessary.
- Loading : Load delivery vehicles.
- Inventory Management : Operate RF scanners to pick orders and manage inventory accurately.
- General Duties : Perform other general warehouse duties as needed.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Experience : Previous experience working in a warehouse preferred; experience working with an RF scanner and forklifts preferred.
- Attention to Detail : Keen attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory management.
- Physical Ability : Ability to lift heavy objects and stay on feet for long periods.
- Positive Attitude : Maintain a positive attitude and self-motivation.
- Activity Level : Active and safety-conscious.
- Work Environment : Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment and in chilled areas (for refrigerated warehouses).
- Communication : Good communication skills.
- Teamwork : Ability to work well in a team while being self-motivated and independent when needed.
