The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Security / Safety Specialist to join our Ogden team on st shift.
The Security / Safety Specialist will be responsible for the development, implementation, direction, administration and maintenance of security programs and activities required at the Williams International facility in Ogden, Utah.
Provides advice and assistance to all levels of management, Human Resources, Facilities, and other Security and Safety personnel in Ogden.
SPECIFIC DUTIES :
- Provides on-site security to maintain a safe work environment for Williams International employees and visitors. This includes monitoring security camera and regular patrols of the facility to identify and correct security or safety breeches.
- Investigates, interviews, gathers evidence, and prepares incident reports for cases of misconduct, theft, injury, accidents, and security breaches.
Reviews security cameras and makes copies of incidents as needed. Works in conjunction with Human Resources, local, state, and federal authorities.
- Communicates with other Security Officers and Emergency Response Team members via word of mouth, portable radio or telephone to give and receive instructions for emergency and non-emergency events.
- Education and Training : Provides training and guidance to employees on security requirements and enforces all safety and security rules.
Provides employee safety training as required.
Procedures / Instructions : Maintains current written desk / operating instructions for employees and security guards.
Maintains security policies / procedures (written and on the company intranet) and publishes communications relating to safety and security topics.
Contract Guard Services : Oversees the contract guard service ensuring protection of the facility and its employees. Ensures that proper training and instructions are provided.
Monitors guard rounds and other activities to ensure an adequate level of guard services and professional services.
Access Control Systems : Administers access control systems. Adds new readers as the system grows, grants / denies access permissions within approval guidelines.
Monitors all security systems (alarms, CCTV, badge readers, etc.) and manages repairs as required to maintain the equipment.
Coordinates badge usage of employees, visitors, contractors, and service personnel. Coordinates distribution and control of all locks, keys and key cores.
- Guard tour administration. Administers guard tour systems used by contracted guard staff.
- Safety Team : Assists in maintaining a trained Emergency Response Team, performing safety audits, safety education.
- Establishes and maintains databases such as accident records, training, alarm access lists, purchase requests and the key system.
- Liaison / Reporting : Serves as liaison to government and customer security personnel. Responds to inquiries and completes required documents (such as s, KMP list, Foreign Interest) as needed.
- Investigates, gathers evidence, and prepares incident reports for cases of theft, injury, accidents, and security breaches.
Works in conjunction with local, state, and federal authorities.
- Maintains the OSHA logs, recording necessary information, and reporting incidents when appropriate.
- Fire suppression systems : Has a working knowledge of the fire suppression systems at Headquarters, Walled Lake, and the Hangars.
Responsible for a weekly system test at Headquarters. Inspects and maintains fire extinguishers at Headquarters, Walled Lake, and the Hangars.
Works in conjunction with local fire departments and contractors for inspections and service.
Performs the role of a company liaison between government agencies such as the ATF, DSS, and DOD. In this role prepares for audits, maintains proper licenses, and ensures compliance with government regulations.
Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice or a related field. Work involves practical job knowledge and skills gained with a minimum of five years as a sworn law enforcement officer.
Experience as an investigator and or a training officer is a plus. Must possess excellent people skills and ability to conduct one-on-one and group training.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. Position requires employee to be on-call and respond to after-hour emergencies and to other related events.
Ability to interact with all levels of management, employees and outside agencies / customers. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is desirable.
Must have a Concealed Firearm Permit and or be LEOSA certified. First Aid, CPR, AED certified is preferred. Knowledge of Utah Criminal law, use of force, and dealing with difficult individuals.
Possess a valid State of Utah Driver’s License.
Physical requirements include the following :
Must be capable of lifting lbs. from floor to height of inches.
Note- must use lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of lbs.)
- Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of lbs.
- Must have a grip strength of at least lbs.
