Minimum Qualifications :
Rock Hill School District Three in York County, South Carolina seeks multiple a High School Advanced Spanish Teachers. The candidate must have a U.
S. Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field, or its foreign equivalent; a South Carolina teaching certificate with an appropriate specialization;
fluency in Spanish; and 3 years teaching students in a foreign language program, including at least one (1) year working with teachers in an administrative capacity, including program development and supervisory duties.
- The specific job responsibilities of the position include : (i) teach concepts and skills in the comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing of Spanish for grades 9 12;
- ii) design and develop short and long range lesson plans for assigned high school classes; (iii) interact, communicate and collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to foster student learning;
- iv) participate in ongoing professional development activities; (v) perform other duties as assigned including tutoring students, curriculum writing, and peer evaluations;
and / or perform administrative tasks; and (vi) collaborate with other language teachers and administrators in the development and evaluation of the world language program.
Position may transfer to a different building within the district’s metro-statistical area (MSA) to accommodate the business needs of the district.
SC certification in Spanish required with a strong GPA in relevant course work
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of effective and innovative instructional and student evaluation techniques
Experience working with high school age students preferred
Knowledge of instructional technology and its applications to the teaching of Spanish
Willingness to work with other teachers to promote interdisciplinary studies
Skill in developing interpersonal relationships with pupils, parents, teachers, staff and the general public
Outstanding references from current and former supervisors
Willingness to work with extracurricular student-life and / or coaching activities
Satisfactory SLED (SC Law Enforcement Division) report
Salary Range : Teacher Salary Schedule
Length of Contract : 190 days
Starting Date : 2024-2025 School Year
