ABOUT THE JOB
The Packaging Team Lead will work closely with packaging operations, ensuring efficiency and quality. This role involves guiding the team, handling equipment, improving processes, and solving problems to keep packaging running smoothly.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide comprehensive training to Machine Operators and Line Workers on equipment usage and operational procedures specific to their responsibilities.
- Lead and manage production lines, setting a high standard for efficiency and performance.
- Serve as a backup to the Packaging Supervisor, stepping in during their absence and assisting in refining production systems, safety measures, quality control, and performance management.
- Actively circulate throughout the department to address issues, foster effective employee relations, and conduct routine training as needed.
- Develop and execute activity plans for assigned production lines, managing line priorities to meet production goals.
- Relay production line needs and issues to supervisors, managers, and support teams effectively.
- Ensure the accuracy of various operational documents, including Packaging Batch Records, Area Clearances, Initial Verifications, In-Process Checks, Warehouse Returns, and Cleaning and Usage Logs.
- Keep supervision updated on any line or component issues throughout the shift, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Monitor cleaning processes to ensure the procedures are being performed accurately.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Trained Qualified Personnel to obtain necessary authorizations for operation and production.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Recommended :
- High school degree or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on production and machine operations.
- Experience working with Quality control systems
- Skilled in inventory control methods, including handling part and product codes.
- Knowledgeable in OSHA safety practices and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively under pressure from deadlines and shifting project priorities.
- Adept at decision-making and problem-solving in a dynamic work environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Production operations are performed in a warehouse / production plant setting, including periodic exposure to physical elements related to manufacturing processes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Tasks require a variety of physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required. Mental applications utilize memory for directions, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and guided problem solving.
