I. Function Summary :
The Quality Assurance Associate fills an essential role in the monitoring and advancement of our quality programs. This position ensures the integrity of our products through daily monitoring of our quality programs.
This position requires strong communication skills will all levels of our company.
II. Primary Job Functions :
1. Validate and assure compliance with established food safety and quality objectives through daily monitoring of quality programs including environmental monitoring and sanitation.
Review and determine action plans for internal and external laboratory data results.
2. Proactively identify potential and emerging food safety issues and develop strategies to effectively investigate and respond.
3. Manage document control program and work with internal departments to make sure the proper documentation is being completed.
4. Control all hard copy records produced by departments in a timely and efficient manner while verifying accuracy of all documents.
5. Continually update internal product specifications, work with Genesis Software Nutrition Program to verify recipes, ingredients and nutritionals.
Keep up to date with new FSMA regulations.

III. Secondary Job Functions :
1. Perform monthly internal GMP audits.
2. Observe facility and associates for GMP and food safety compliance.
3. Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards.
4. Perform special project work as assigned by the Quality Manager.
IV. Authority :
1. Make decisions concerning product quality, including shutting down line(s) when processes do not conform to specifications.
2. Interact with lead associates and line personnel to ensure quality standards are being achieved.
V. Performance and Accountability :
1. Ensure that safe practices are being followed at all times during the manufacturing process.
2. Maintain a positive, professional attitude and appearance at all times.
3. Develop a proactive approach to creating a continuous improvement environment.
VI. Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field with 1-3 years of experience in the food industry.
2. Strong knowledge of food safety principles, HACCP Certified or PCQI.
3. High level of organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication, problem solving and commitment to company goals required.
4. Must be able to perform in a demanding, fast paces environment and bring a can-do, positive attitude to this role.
