The Laboratory Office Specialist position is primarily responsible for supporting the laboratory operations throughout ATI Millersburg’s Analytical laboratory.
The person in this role will report to the Analytical Laboratory Leader and work in conjunction with other laboratory leaders to facilitate various laboratory needs.
Responsibilities include :
- Enter incoming samples into the Laboratory Information Management System
- Assist lab customers with testing requests, coordinate nonstandard conditions with customers and lab staff
- Communicate testing and distribute samples to the lab functional groups, including communicating customer expectations
- Exhibit professionalism and prompt responsiveness for all customer needs
- Work with purchasing to bill for work performed
- Oversee the purchase, tracking , and control of lab inventory, and communicate with purchasing and suppliers to ensure that the lab always has proper inventory levels
- Drive improvements in documenting laboratory and lab office procedures
- Use technical skills and background to identify problems and implement effective solutions
- Report data to laboratory customers.
- Operate various analytical laboratory equipment, including LECO gas analyzers
- Perform laboratory specific maintenance tasks

- Minimum of 2 years laboratory or office experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with Oracle (preferred but not required)
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information
- Ability to work with internal and external customers to provide laboratory testing and collaborate on continuous improvement projects
- Ability to evaluate and rank priorities and communicate to lab employees
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Ability to work with cross-functional groups
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles preferred
- Self-motivated
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree with 2 years laboratory experience, degree preferably in a science-based major
- Manufacturing and / or Quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
