As Plastipak Plant Engineer - HVAC / Pump Room, you assure safe, reliable & efficient operation of our Champaign site industrial mechanical systems, specifically, the HVAC, compressor systems and pump room systems.
Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, you lead a team of skilled technicians & collaborate with peers to achieve optimal plant performance.
You Will
- Develop & direct plans for maintenance & performance of plant support systems, including pump room systems, compressors & HVAC chillers.
- Continually measure & assess existing systems, identifying current & potential issues.
- Direct & perform troubleshooting & repairs, serving as the emergency contact in our 24 / 7 facility
- Develop project proposals to improve systems’ efficiency, reliability & overall performance, including refurbishment or replacement recommendations, project requirements & budget estimates
- As project manager, establish project plans & schedules and oversee project workflow to ensure projects delivery achieves time, quality & budget objectives.
You’ll manage multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with stakeholders, vendors & technicians
- Procure parts & manage vendors
- Maintain appropriate documentation, recordkeeping & reporting

You Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- An expert-level knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including HVAC chillers, pump systems & compressor systems
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience maintaining & improving medium / large commercial & institutional HVAC systems, inclusive of industrial compressor & pump applications
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Critical thinking & exceptional problem-solving skills
- The following attributes : Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated to succeed in a high output environment
- Registered Professional Engineer License, preferred.
