Job Description
Oversees ongoing activities which promote safe, rational, cost-effective drug and nutrient therapy and further drug and nutrient distribution services within Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Facilitates and manages day-to-day Pharmacy operations, including fiscal and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are being provided which support the integrity of the family system and patient care team.
Experience
2 years of experience as a hospital pharmacy supervisor
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science, PharmD, or American Society of Health-System Pharmacists residency
Education
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Certification Summary
Georgia licensed pharmacist or eligible
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication, analytical, conflict resolution, financial analytics, and management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and presentation software
Job Responsibilities
- Maintains pharmacy and distribution systems that promote safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy.
- Coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes that support increased quality, decreased cost, and improved service.
- Assists in development and achievement of budget targets for all areas of responsibility.
- Ensures effective utilization of resources, human capital, and material resources and achievement of targeted revenues.
- Assists in staff recruitment, retention, and development.
- Serves as preceptor to pharmacy practice residency.
- Provides direct oversight to drug purchasing and pharmacy supply chain activities, and staffing oversight.
- Participates actively on various hospital committees.
- Enhances pharmacy services though staff support and development.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
- Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including : interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
- Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
- Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
