JOB DUTIES :
POSITION : A full-time university staff position is available in Admissions. The working title of this assignment is Application Review Specialist, with an official title of Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator 1.
This is an expected-to-continue assignment, which requires a six-month probationary period.The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience, with a range of $43,000-$48,000, plus an excellent benefit package.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Familiarity with Student Information Systems, CRM's, document imaging software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Understand and interpret policy pertaining to application processing.
- Previous experience in a higher education setting.
DUTIES : This position is responsible for the evaluation and acceptance of applications, primarily non-degree and first-year students.
Ability to understand WI State Statute, UW System, and UW-Eau Claire policies is required, as related to admission and residency policies.
This position must possess the ability to work independently, set priorities, think logically, and exercise good judgement in making decisions.
They must possess exceptional attention to detail and technical expertise with student information system and document imaging, as well as MS Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build and foster relationships with campus / community partners and high school counselors are essential.
It operates under general supervision, and reports to the supervisor, Associate Director, and Director of Admissions.
- Evaluate applications with the authority to accept / deny students, primarily undergraduate non-degree specials, high school specials, and first-year student applications.
- Facilitate website, application, and communication updates, as they relate to undergraduate non-degree & high school special applicants.
- Evaluate and revise applicant checklist for all application types, in accordance with UW System and UW-Eau Claire policies and guidelines.
- Outreach and advise prospective students and applicants of admissions requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Back-up readmit processing, and document processing for international applicants.
- Determine residency status requiring knowledge of Wisconsin State Statue 36.27 (2).Effectively communicate policy and determinations to incoming and current students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, Associate Director and Director of Admissions.
- By definition of this position, persons in this position are considered a campus security authority (CSA) to whom individuals may report certain crimes occurring within UWEC on-campus and off-campus property
