Director, Sales, and Operations (Denver, CO)
Or client is a leader in Fuel and Lubricant distribution and services.They have an immediate need for a Director of Sales & Operations for their Rocky Mountain Region to be located in Denver, CO.
The Director of Sales and Operations will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the sales and operational functions of their transportation and logistics business across the region.
This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in driving sales, managing operational efficiency, and fostering a high-performing team.
This role is responsible for the entire business from sales to operational execution and P&L responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Team Management :
- Lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of approximately 30-40 professionals across multiple job functions, including sales staff and truck drivers.
- Execute the company’s training, performance, and talent management programs.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish a cadence to track team performance through the Organizational Planning Model from establishing quarterly objectives and key results, annual goals, and cascading through the team as appropriate.
- Plan and execute in the development of performance plans to achieve goals and implement corrective actions, when necessary, consistently across the teams.
- Work with process improvement, change management, and quality improvement experts to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review sales and commissions with Sales Management for timely distribution .
Sales Leadership :
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
- Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance, training, and motivation to maximize individual and collective performance.
- Foster strong customer relationships and collaborate with key clients to understand their evolving needs.
- Achieve growth of sales and related profitability in line with the Business Units objectives by supporting Sales Leads and Sellers in discovering new opportunities within existing accounts and searching for new business with new customers.
Operational Management :
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the transportation and logistics department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall operational performance.
- Implement best practices in logistics and supply chain management to optimize resources and reduce costs.
- Oversee fleet performance operations in all locations while also focusing on maintaining a safe working environment.
- Facilitate coordination and financial review of all asset deployment in the field.
- Interact with internal and external portions of the supply chain to create and maintain a competitive operational edge in the industry.
Performance Analysis and Reporting :
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales and operational strategies.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- P&L Level accountability for sales growth and operational efficiency.
- Utilize enterprise resource planning tools to input, manage, and analyze operational data to assist leadership in tactical and strategic decision making.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in sales & operations and supply chain in the oil and gas distribution industry.
- Five (5) or more years of leadership / management experience.
- Strong understanding of DOT compliance and FMCSA safety compliance required
- Strong technical ability with respect to operations and the management of logistics
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's or Master'sDegree in business, operations, or supply chain preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving techniques and skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Workdays are Monday Friday, 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm. This position does require supporting resource hours outside the standard working hours.
