Job Summary & Responsibilities : The Manager, Social Content Creation , MotorTrend (full-time, salaried, regular) is responsible for the ideation, creation and distribution of all social-first productions.
This may include content developed from editorial shoots, ad sales programs, experiential, and events.The position will work across all brands and publishing platforms, and will be coordinating with the other MotorTrend Group Social editors on cross-network news and promotions.
Additionally, this position will work closely with Editorial, Events, Marketing, Sales teams, and internal video teams.
Social Content Creation Create and distribute platform-specific social first content with the goal of increasing video views, total engagements and traffic to MTG owned and operated platforms.
Develop thumb stopping content that drives engagement to unlock the best performance from each platform.Collaborate with the studio to develop a process and deliver cohesive storytelling that is in line with programming and studio filters.
Maintain a content calendar of upcoming shoots, planned content and trends for our brands to participate in.
Hot Rod Editorial and Community Management Publish content across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X.
Support the brand’s tentpole events such as HOT ROD Power Tour, Roadkill Nights, SEMA, Monterey Car Week and Drag Week.Grow social audience, increase unique visitors, and on-platform page views.
- Ad Sales and Programming Support Ideate, concept, draft creative copy, which reflects the voice of said brand to support various ad sales campaigns, editorial initiatives and programming priorities.
- Analytics Use data to identify the best-performing content; maintain an internal social analytics database.
- Best Practices Keep up to date on the latest trends and changes in social media as well as new practices for optimizing the effectiveness of the platforms.
Keep teams informed of new trends and recommendations on how we can participate in ways that are authentic to our brand.
Supervisory Responsibility :
This position will not include supervising one or more employees where applicable.
Education / Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience managing social media pages with a proven record of success in audience growth, engagement and short to mid-form content production.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
- Knowledge of social media and analytics software.
- Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms, such as Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.
and how each platform can be used in different scenarios.
- Must be a creative storyteller across all platforms.
- Strong writing capability of shifting styles to reflect content and / or individual brands.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video formats.
- Ability to be a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary.
- Good technical understanding and ability to pick up new tools quickly.
- Exceptional time management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Requirements :
- The ability to sit for prolonged periods of time and view computer screen.
- The ability to travel to production shoots and / or off-site events as necessary. This may include travel both during and outside of normal business hours. (up to 15%)

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in California.
Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
The range listed is just one component of MotorTrend's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range : $71,500.00 - $83,000.
00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
