Job Title : Solar Service Technician (Service Tech)

FLSA Classification : Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Number of Positions Available : (1)

Location : Onsite, Pflugerville, TX.

Compensation Range :

$27-$30 (Commensurate with experience) with a current Apprentice Electrician License in state of Texas;

$35 if candidate has a current Journeyman Electrician License in state of Texas

Additional Compensation :

• Opportunities available to accumulate overtime pay
• Additional financial stipends offered annually to Service Techs certified in one of the following electricians licenses in the state of Texas :
• Residential Wireman
• Journeyman Electrician
• Master Electrician

As we continue to build a strong team, we are looking for an innovative, adaptable, and highly organized professional to join us as a Solar Service Technician.

The Solar Service Technician, will be working under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, and responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on various solar systems that are experiencing issues.

Most importantly, you will also be responsible for ensuring that our commitments to our customers are met and kept to Longhorn Solar’s standards of customer service and satisfaction.

Essential functions :

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial installations to maintain warranty coverage
• Displaying a professional and knowledgeable manner to communicate effectively and always prioritize the customer
• Applying reason and logic to solve problems and think through troubleshooting issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Applying competent time and resource management skills
• Ensuring all repair and maintenance services comply with applicable local, state, and federal codes

Supervisory responsibilities : None

Work environment : This role is executed in an outdoor, vehicle and warehouse environment. Routinely working with fragile solar equipment, and vehicle / equipment transportation necessities.

Physical demands : This role will require the physical demands of sitting, standing, bending, and lifting 60 lb. items. Installation assignments can take place on various outdoor terrains and equipment used will vary depending on specific project requirements.

Travel required : Local Travel Only - Company Vehicle Provided

Required education and experience :

• Valid Texas Electrical License (JW preferred)
• Valid State Driver’s License
• 2+ years’ Service Technician experience
• Experience installing and repairing electrical equipment and fixtures
• Experience installing various types of raceway and cable tray systems
• Experience troubleshooting motor and control systems
• 2+ years performing routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
• Consistent record of meeting standards for all quality and safety codes / requirements including local, state, and federal levels

Additional eligibility requirements :

• If hired, you will be required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Every employee of Longhorn Solar must be willing to submit to a drug screening if extended an offer of employment
