We are actively looking for a Domestic Operations Agent who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a candidate preferably with at least 1+ years of prior freight forwarding experience.

In this position, the Agent of Domestic Operations is responsible for :

  • Domestic freight forwarding, including alerting, and routing via various internet tools and updating transportation software systems.
  • Pricing domestic air, ground, LTL, and FTL.
  • Handling shipments with attention to detail and standard operating procedures.
  • Integral role in operations to assist in moving freight for a wide variety of customers in the US.
  • The ability to recognize possible and existing service failures and issues and effectively communicate these situations to management as needed.
  • Responsible for shipment follow up including obtaining pieces, weights, dimensions from agents and updating transportation software.
  • Aggressive approach with carriers / partners to obtain special rates or spot quotes.
  • Obtaining vendor charges and auditing for accuracy and legitimacy.

QUALIFICATIONS : KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Intermediate computer skills required in Excel e.g. formulas, graph.
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Management Software (is an asset) e.g. SAP, Cargowise.

Work Schedule

  • Usually moderate noise level.
  • Climate controlled office environment.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Language Skills :

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, spreadsheets, emails and instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively to both internal and external contacts.

Salary Range : $45,000-$55,000 (Annual Salary)

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to an individual’s education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.

Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

Qualification : QUALIFICATIONS : KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Bachelor / Associate degree in Business, Logistics or International Trade or related discipline is an asset.

Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in Domestic Operations Freight Forwarding experience is an asset. Strong knowledge of North American geography.

Experience in Transportation or Logistics industry is an asset. Cruise ship logistics experience is an asset. Experience in Magaya WMS is an asset.
