Staff Development Supports staff development with educational activities including remediation, certification, mentoring, regulatory requirements, new equipment / procedures, and EMR updates.
Supports and guides staff in their personal and professional development goals and objectives.
Leadership & Collegiality Serves as a leader to promote the professional growth of peers. Facilitates interdepartmental collaboration to achieve project and organizational goals.
Serves as a resource for and contributes to the professional development of interdisciplinary team members.
- Collaboration Collaborates with others in the practice of staff development at the institutional, local, regional, state, national, and international levels.
- Orientation Develops, coordinates, maintains, evaluates and improves components of the orientation process using evidenced-based practice.
Monitors and documents the orientation process.
- Education Evaluation Evaluates, on an ongoing basis, the results of educational programs, processes, and clinical interventions to ensure activities are meeting the standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
- Education Development & Coordination Assesses staff training or education needs by collecting data and feedback; plans educational interventions based on data collected.
Facilitates the development of educational activities based on the target audience learner needs ensuring adult learning principles are incorporated.
Coordinates or implements the training or development.
- Content Expert Collaboration Identifies and collaborates with content experts to develop activities to facilitate learner's achievement of the educational objectives.
- Evidence-Based Research Participates in and uses evidence-based research to identify strategies for improving professional development activities and practice.
- Adult Learning Incorporates principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing / Patient Care
- Preferred- Master's Degree in Nursing / Patient Care, Education, Organizational Management, or Staff Development
- Required- 5 years Nursing of Operating Room experience
- Preferred- 2 years Education / Staff Development experience
- Required- RN license
- Preferred- Registered Nurse (RN) Educator
- Preferred-Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC)
- Preferred-ANPD certification (BCE)
