A leader in architecture, engineering, interiors, and consulting services, who specialize in complex, large-scale projects worldwide are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Sustainability Specialist to join their team.
Position Overview
The Senior Sustainability Specialist will serve as an internal sustainability expert, providing consulting services and guiding projects toward third-party certifications, including LEED, Green Globes, and WELL.
This role supports the Building Science team’s goal to enhance building performance across all company projects, working closely with architects, engineers, and clients to set ambitious sustainability goals.
The successful candidate will also contribute to team leadership, including potential roles in market sector or practice leadership depending on background.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead goal-setting sessions to align sustainability objectives with project requirements.
- Manage third-party certification processes, including LEED, Green Globes, and other high-performance design standards.
- Collaborate with designers, clients, and contractors to integrate sustainable design strategies.
- Develop and deliver internal training on sustainability best practices, maintaining resources for firm-wide use.
- Stay updated on sustainability, wellness, and energy standards, applying these insights to project design and strategy.
- Monitor and benchmark project sustainability goals, reporting on outcomes and successes.
- Prepare and submit applications for sustainable design awards.
- Serve as an internal and external sustainability leader, advancing the firm’s technical capabilities and sustainability influence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in LEED project management or a similar sustainability-focused role.
- LEED specialty credential is required; additional credentials (WELL, Fitwel, Green Globes) are preferred.
- Proven experience in implementing and evaluating sustainability strategies across complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable design frameworks, including LEED, WELL, Green Globes, and Guiding Principles.
- Familiarity with building performance analysis to support sustainable design initiatives.
- Strong skills in project management, task management, and driving sustainable processes forward.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in training or resource development.
