The ideal candidate for this role will have the skills and experience necessary to fulfill the following responsibilities and qualifications :
- The Business Banking Underwriter and Portfolio Management Officer is responsible for various aspects of the credit work flow, including analyzing and decisioning of credits for underwritings, the renewal of portfolio credits, portfolio management and other ongoing credit management.
- Must have prior Small Business or Commercial Underwriting experience.
- Duties may include compiling data and incorporating spreads, cash flow, value of collateral, appraisals, audits, covenant tracking and testing, exception monitoring, and financial statement tracking.
- Responsible for compilation of data and interprets outcomes of analysis and prepares summaries and recommendations.
- Ensures all requests are processed in accordance with bank policies, regulations and laws.
- Identifies risk and mitigating factors related to conducting a thorough credit analysis for approval.
- Delivers an optimal customer experience via timely and proactive client communication and follow-up.
- Responds to internal and external customer inquiries.
- Higher level roles may act as a team lead, providing supervision of credit activities and reviewing credit status with individuals on a periodic basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Requires a Bachelors in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field and 3+ year business banking credit, spread analysis, portfolio management, lending practices and procedures or other directly related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
- Basic knowledge of business banking / commercial real estate lending transactions, spread analysis, credit scoring, portfolio management, lending practices and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of loan requirements with the ability to identify risk and mitigating factors. Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
- Knowledge of credit and / or related lending processes and procedures.
- Good understanding of lending policies and procedures and general banking laws and regulations.
- Possess good judgment, ability to make sound decisions.
- Good analysis and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information.
- Must have good customer relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be a self-starter, dependable, accurate in completing responsibilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of a various related software applications, including spreadsheets, word.

- Salary Range Depending on experience
oLevel I - $48,750 to $71,500
oLevel II - $55,500 to $81,400
oLevel III - $65,625 to $96,250
