They are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team and help manage our financial records with accuracy and efficiency.
Job Summary : The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and be familiar with relevant accounting software.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and record day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including the preparation of invoices, payment of bills, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and categorized.
- Prepare and process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and issuing paychecks.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions on a monthly basis.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation as requested.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and internal staff to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues.
- Support the accounting department with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) is a plus.
