RWE Clean Energy is seeking a Senior GIS Associate who will support the development of a comprehensive renewable energy spatial platform, including cross-team data integrations, data analytics, and support of the overall geospatial strategy.
Responsibilities :
- Perform suitability analysis to assess sites for renewable energy development
- Organize and maintain geospatial datasets, surveys, land cover data, and other relevant sources
- Design web-based and static GIS products to communicate GIS data effectively to other teams and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Development, Engineers, and Construction to provide support through project life cycles
- Develop spatial models and algorithms to support renewable energy planning and optimization. Analyze and interpret outputs to inform project design and other internal stakeholders
- Work in a collaborative environment with the GIS team and other internal stakeholders to identify effective solutions for project development
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geography, Geodetic Engineering / Science, GIS, or related field
Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind, battery storage, or green hydrogen
Knowledge of spatial modeling techniques and proficiency in scripting languages (Python, R) or FME
Proficiency with Esri ArcGSI Products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise, relational databases
Minimum of 3 years experience as a GIS Analyst or equivalent experience within the energy industry
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships
Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
Work Environment :
This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE offices and field locations
Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
Pay range : The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York is $79,400 - $119,200. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.
S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
