Lead Housekeeper / Supervisor
Canaan, CT
About the Position :
The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensuring staff productivity and that all tasks are completed efficiently. They will manage inventories of cleaning supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and equipment is used properly.
The supervisor will step in and assist or cover areas to ensure smooth operations. They will coordinate and oversee special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning or event preparations, to maintain high cleanliness standards across the facility.
Schedule : Full-Time, Two-Week Rotating Schedule
Week One : Sunday, Monday 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm, Tuesday OFF, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30pm, Saturday OFF
Week Two : Sunday OFF, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm, Thursday OFF, Friday and Saturday 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm
Your Role :
- Provide assistance to Housekeeping Manager by taking on a lead communications role within the department.
- Assume duties and responsibilities in the absence of Department Manager, including attendance in staff and managerial meetings
- Present creative ideas for improved efficiency
- Train and onboard housekeeping staff
- Complete all mandatory trainings on time
- Suggest and maintain housekeeping assets that will enhance productivity and minimize safety concerns for all department staff
- Monitor and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule; Zone coverage's for cleaning optimization.
- Assist with planning of future tasks.
- Maintain all housekeeping supplies.
- Assist with performance appraisals for all staff Quarterly and Annually
- Ensure Mountainside standards of cleaning and daily inspections are maintained
- Dusts halls, offices, client rooms, recreation rooms, lounges, etc. according to assigned unit
- Washes walls, windows, window frames, tiles, door frames, and other high areas
- Vacuum drapes, carpets and rugs
- Cleans bathrooms and replenishes amenities
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area
- Makes beds and changes linens as needed
- Ensure professional boundaries and interaction with Clients are done with our Mountainside standards and training
- Follow all policies and procedures within the Housekeeping department
- Follow Bio-Hazard policy when required
- Utilize safety equipment and daily working tools appropriately; glasses, gloves and ear pieces when required
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years continuous experience in housekeeping / cleaning required (hotels or residential care experience preferred)
- 2 years Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in English
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, and internet applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays required
- Must be in excellent physical condition (capable of heavy lifting, etc.)
Compensation :
The base rate of pay for this position is $21.00 to $24.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
